New Zealand Fringe Applications open!

Cool beans! The applications for the ‘09 NZ Fringe have been posted on the Fringe website,

The truly observant will notice that the Kakano funding applications are available there too. The Kakano funds are from Creative New Zealand and are administrated by the Fringe Festival. Essentially, they are available to just help out works that are getting staged at the fringe and the grants can be extremely useful… Or not. Last year, for example, I used it to buy some lighting stuff for The Kettle of Allen and Max (written and directed by Harry Meech), the lighting stuff promptly broke, which sucked but it was not the fault of the Fringe Festival; it was the fault of my shitty luck. Damn it.

Interestingly, this years Kakano fact sheet doesn’t exactly spell out what is eligible for Kakano funding this year. So, maybe they’ll mull over any request; even the bizarre ones like that wicked cool underwater scream from a fringe or so back.

Man, I love aggressively whimsical stuff. It’s just beautiful.
